Latest Fashion Trends 2013

The fashion world is moving on to what to wear in spring/summer 2013 already but for most of us in the Western World there is still A LOT of Winter left and in Europe the dark days and cold nights haven’t quite reached their most extreme yet. So here is a quick guide to what Virgin Blak has in store for you in line with the latest fashion trends so you can look cool while staying warm.

Leather is huge this Winter:

Fendi, Celine, Givenchy, Christian Dior, Gareth Pugh, Versace, Michael Kors all featured leather heavily in their fall/winter collections earlier this year. The one item of clothing you really should invest in this season is the classic biker jacket, a key wardrobe staple. Leather is also set to make an appearance as detailing either as pockets, collars, lapels, sleeves; and don’t forget accessories – leather gloves anyone!

Green and Gray are the new black:

These colors featured prominently in the Milan and New York 2012-13 Ready-to-wear runway shows – our top picks have to be the Fur Collar Double Breasted Long Coat and our Zigzag Wool Funnel Collar Coat. Other colours to watch for are blue combined with black, purple, and of course white contrasted with black, a Virgin Blak favorite.

Military:

Coats and jackets with epaulettes and statement brass buttons are another fall/winter 2012-13 trend. Military greens like olive and khaki were popular at the Max Mara Italian fashion house and Victoria Beckham this year. Is Parka the It-Coat of 2012/13 ?:

From the streets to the celebrities. The truth is they’ve been quite common for a while now, I mean we can all still picture Mr. Liam Gallagher rocking the stage in his long green parka while singing with Oasis, back in the day. Hmm, I wonder if we could hold the rock-stars responsible for this fashion come-back? Like it or not the Parka is back with a vengeance, and just as well too, there’s no better coat to fend off the winter chill.
